Olivet is an historic church celebrating over 100 years of service in Glendale, Oregon.

Olivet is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA), which means that we have a representative form of government.  We believe the Scriptures are the sole authority in matters of faith and practice.

The church as it is today.

 

Olivet is the oldest mainline church in Glendale, Oregon.  It serves as the community church for a couple of reasons: ^1. It is made up of members from a wide variety of other traditions and ^2. we take an active roll and care immensely in the community.

 

We can be characterized as:

• having respect and appreciation for diversity

• being inclusive, since all persons are children of God

• a "come as you are" church family

• a welcoming, friendly, compassionate and loving community of faith, since Christ taught us to love God wholeheartedly and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

 

Our vision statement:

We believe in helping each other discern what it means to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in all areas of life.
