Sunday School Report
by
Jessie Saylor

This Sunday was so nice outside that the six kids and I brought our chairs out for our bible story. We read about two sisters named Mary and Martha; how Martha was full of pride and was more concerned about preparation of food and cleaning instead of enjoying the company of Jesus in her home and listening to what he had to say like Mary was doing. I explained a little about the laws in those times how women weren't allowed to do as Mary did and that it was a shock when Jesus kindly got after Martha for getting angry with Mary (at this time I added that even Jesus doesn't like a tattle tale).
I then asked the kids what they could do different in their day to be more like Mary, so they all agreed that they should pray before they start their day and when it was finished. When our story time and discussion time was over, we brought our chairs back into our room and watched a short movie about our story with our snack, did a crossword puzzle and colored it, and then finished the morning with a prayer and drawing with chalk on the sidewalk outside until the adults came downstairs for coffee and fellowship time.
Thank you to Gracie for being such a great help setting up the movie and helping to pass out the snacks and drinks to the kids with me! Just a reminder that Vacation Bible School is July 26 - 29th from 10am - 1pm. All kids going into K-6th grade are welcome to join our "Swimming in the Word" fun.
