- I had nine children today, the older
kids are staying upstairs to hear the sermon, I do miss their
participation and help but they are getting older and need to be
upstairs.
We are working on the fruits of the holy spirit. Today our focus
was on joy. We had a great discussion in our round table manner of
what brings us joy which is many things from puppies to friends and then
we learned we have joy because Jesus is in our heart and our joy is not
really based on happiness with things on earth. Its a beautiful
concept and a bit hard to understand but these kids are on the track
right now.
Our second part was a fun game of "Christian Walk" with follow
the leader, Mary being the leader of the chicken walk, bear walk and
frog hop, none of these being the Christian walk. Followed with a
talk around the table while munching on cookies about what the Christian
walk for all of us really means based on the fruits of the holy spirit.
Our next question was, who would you like to tell about Jesus and our
answers were varied with Mary being one of the chosen people to hear the
message, pretty cool. By the way, with a knee and hip problem I
did discover when I got home I didn't have a leg to stand on. So
much for my funny walks, not so funny later but the kids loved it.
The kids had a work sheet to color words expressing joy and then one
last round at the table with "Rejoice in the Lord always."
Joseph who loves to sing, sang it for us with all of us following suit
and we hope they will be allowed to sing it at the end of Bobbie's
lesson.
"I will say it again: Rejoice."
