VBS News

Its beginning to look like VBS in my home.  I have stacks of crafts, stacks of food, stacks of surprises, the ark of the Covenant  (a gold box with the 10 commandments in it), rocks to place by the river Jordan or the blue sidewalk in front of the church.  I have family members coming to help me.

We have a marvelous team of women working toward this goal.  Gloria, Sharon, Deborah, Doll, Bobbie, Jessie and Mary.  The CDs are all made and ready to be passed out to each family who registers their children.  Once again, I thank Gloria and Dave for this.  We have snacks for each day with a picnic planned for the last day and I thank Suzie for furnishing supplies for that day.  Linda will help us on Friday.  The parents are all invited and there will be a talent show, showcasing our own music with the VBS theme.  The parents are invited to come at noon to join us.

Our enthusiasm is running high and we plan to decorate the church basement on July 25th, Sat. at 10 a.m.  We have a camping theme and hopefully we will transform that little basement room into an outdoor splendor (well as much as sheets and fake trees can do).

Bobbie is going to be our puppeteer with a big puppet named Sparky who will delight and entertain the children.
Bobbie, Doll, Deborah, Sharon and Mary will all teach one day with differing themes.  On Thurs. the trek is to the Upper Room and it will include washing the children's feet outside in a small swimming pool.  Jessie is helping with the crafts and each day the kids will work on a specific disk with beads to remind them of what they learned the day before.  Each day will have a biblical message to memorize.

We have thought of everything except how to protect our sign.  We were all so saddened by the prank of some kids who decided to not only take our sign down advertising the days of our VBS but took the letters with them.  Isn't it sad to think kids are so bored they will think about any act of vandalism to give excitement to their lives.  We must all pray for these kids whoever they are and we will also pray they didn't have a bad moment at some VBS in the past.  Perhaps they will join us this year and learn while having fun.  Remember our theme is Camp Edge   Finding and experiencing God everywhere.
