Last Friday the teens of Olivet Presbyterian gathered in the church basement for a movie. As an incentive to get people to show up, (there was) soda and take and bake pizza from the Glenway. Shannon, our youth group leader, I plus four other teens and Shannon's mother gathered that evening. Most of the youth showed up early so we hung out and chatted till a little after 7:00 just in case some more teens might show. Then we sat down to watch the movie Shannon had picked out. It was called “Soul Surfer” and it was a very inspiring movie. It was about a young girl who's arm was bitten off by a shark. Undaunted she competes in a surfing competition. Even though she loses the contest her perseverance inspires people all over the world to do their very best. Everyone agreed that it was a really good movie.
It was a fun evening and any youth who wants to join us would be most welcome.
