THE WORD FOR TODAY
2 Kings 10-12
2 Kings 10-12
2 Kings 10:31 31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart; for he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam, who had made Israel sin.
From time to time our local newspaper will print the “Indictments” that have been handed down by a Grand Jury. In each indictment the transgression of the person is printed alongside their name and often times their address.
Scripture records a terrible indictment on Jehu who started out so strong for God. It says, “Jehu took NO heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart…” Jehu refused to surrender his heart to the LORD God of Israel.
Sounds familiar? But it doesn’t have to be that way. What is the evidence in a person’s life when they have surrendered their HEART to God?
Honor…a person surrendered to Christ will HONOR Him with all that they do.
Eager…someone surrendered to Christ will be EAGER to worship, work and walk for HIM.
Available…a surrendered person is AVAILABLE to serve Christ in any way possible.
Righteous…that person surrendered to Christ will want to do RIGHTEOUS things all the days of their life. Their feet will not be swift to rush to evil. Their righteousness is compelled by a real relationship with Christ.
Time…a person surrendered to Christ spends as much TIME with God as is possible. Their greatest joy is praying and reading scripture and singing songs of praise to the ONE Who has changed their life.
Let’s surrender our HEART to HIM!!!
Lord, I give YOU my heart…all of it…strengthen me to walk with YOU all the days of my life…in Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
