THE WORD FOR TODAY
1 Chronicles 25-27
1 Chronicles 25-27
1 Chronicles 27:1 1 And the children of Israel, according to their number, the heads of fathers’ houses, the captains of thousands and hundreds and their officers, served the king in every matter of the military divisions. These divisionscame in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, each division having twenty-four thousand.
I am blessed to be able to write this devotion today. I am blessed because this devotion is inspired by God’s Word and His Spirit…but also blessed because I have the freedom to write about God, to encourage people in their relationship with God and to live my faith without fear of persecution and imprisonment. We are blessed today because we live and serve under a blanket of freedom provided by those who in the past and in the present served the cause of freedom at home and abroad. Thank God for our military men and women who are serving so very well for us!
The children of Israel had an army that served the king. Those divisions of warriors went out and came in as they protected the people of God. Today thousands of Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen come in and go out protecting us from those who would strip us of our freedom and cause us great harm. We are blessed to have them…but even more…we are blessed with a GOD who helps and strengthens in the battle for freedom.
Do something really special this week, go to church and thank God for the freedom that you have to worship without fear of persecution. Take full advantage of your freedom to exercise your faith and trust in Christ. And remember to thank those who have served; our veterans and those who serve; the active duty force as often as you can.
Thank You Father for our military veterans and our active duty military and thank YOU for the freedom we enjoy…may we not waste or take that freedom for granted…IN JESUS NAME…AMEN!!!
