THE WORD FOR TODAY
1 Kings 1-3
1 Kings 1-3
1 Kings 3:9 9 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?”
What if you could ask for anything from God and you knew with absolute certainty He would say yes to your request? What would you ask for?
Solomon was instructed by God to ask for anything he wanted. Without wasting a breath he acknowledged that he didn’t know what he was doing as King of Israel and that he needed wisdom. He needed wisdom and understanding because as he said, “For who is able to judge this great people of YOURS?”
As Solomon needed wisdom and understanding even so we need wisdom in great measure. We have never lived in a world so complicated. Technology which was intended to make our life easier has paved the way for even more confusion and chaos. We struggle with “ethical dilemmas” more than any generations past and it doesn’t look good for our grandchildren. We are handing a world more filled with disease and pestilence than mankind has ever known over to our children. We need wisdom.
Will you this moment ask God for wisdom? Will you turn your face toward God seeking Godly understanding so that at the end of this day, should Jesus tarry, you don’t have to live with regret?
Father, give us wisdom to pass on our love for YOU…help us be bold and courageous and faithful to YOU…in Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
