THE WORD FOR TODAY
Isaiah 4-6 Isaiah 4-6 - Passage Lookup - New King James Version - BibleGateway.com (Click to read Today’s Word) Isaiah 5:4 4 What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes? Where I live we are the middle of harvesting the crops. Corn, rice, soybeans and cotton are the staple crops in this area of the Mississippi Delta. Now imagine how you would feel if you were farming rice. You planted rice…fertilized it…watered it…did everything to harvest a good rice crop. Then in great anticipation you get your combine ready to harvest the rice. You make your first pass to get a sample to check the moisture in the rice only to discover it wasn’t rice…it was a hybrid breed of wild rice that was worth absolutely nothing. Disappointment would be a major understatement. God was disappointed with His vineyard…the people of God. He prepared His vineyard to bring forth good grapes but alas it brought forth wild grapes. The wild grapes were good for nothing. They had no value whatsoever. If you know Christ as Lord and Savior of your life you have been created to bring forth fruit worthy of His high and holy Name. Believers fruit is readily identified…love, joy, peace, patience, ministry, service, witnessing and so much more. God was disappointed with Israel. When He looked at the fruit of their life all He wanted was to do…start over…make it better the next time. I pray that we are bringing forth fruit that honors HIS Holy NAME! I don’t to dishonor my heavenly Father with fruit that makes Him angry. Father, may the fruit of my life bring honor and glory to YOU…In Jesus Name…AMEN! Blessings Brother William
