Isaiah 10:4 4 Without Me they shall bow down among the prisoners, And they shall fall among the slain.” For all this His anger is not turned away, But His hand is stretched out still.
What does it take to make you angry? Some of us get angry when someone takes our parking spot at work. Some of us get angry when we get passed over for a promotion. Some of us get angry because we don’t get our way. There isn’t a one of us who haven’t been angry…and perhaps at some point for just cause.
Isaiah prophesied a day of anger from God. He said, “For all this my anger is not turned away.” Israel’s disobedience had reached such a level that God would not relent in any measure from HIS rod of anger against HIS people. God had every right to be angry with HIS people. Their prideful and stubborn sin had pushed HIM to point of punishment for HIS people.
Jesus bore the full force of God’s anger when HE died on the cruel cross. A righteous sacrifice had to be made. Jesus, the righteous ONE was that sacrifice. Because of HIS sacrifice we do not have to be in the path of God’s anger. We can turn to HIM in repentance and faith. We can place our trust in HIM. We can commit our life to righteousness and holiness. We can live a life of love and devotion to God. It’s really the right thing to do…after all…HE bore God’s anger for you and for me.
Father, Jesus…Your Son bore the anger for my sin…I thank YOU for HIS sacrifice for me…In Jesus Name…AMEN!
