Proverbs 16:9 9 A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
City Streets Guides have fallen away to navigation systems. Enter the address of your desired location and every turn will be announced. You get immediate feedback if you get off route, “Please make u turn…please make u turn.” The really smart GPS’s will say, “Please make u turn when it is safe.” Even though I know how to get where I am going most of the time I used the navigation system because it is so fun.
I can’t think of a better guide for my life than God. The wisdom writer said, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.”
We need God to direct our steps. We need HIM to tell us when we need to turn. We desperately need the Holy Spirit to say, “Make a U Turn now!” One of my prayers is, “Lord direct and protect me on the road of life…I don’t want the road to fall out from under me.”
Life is filled with so many twists, turns and dangers. We need Him to help us every step of the way. Life is like a minefield. Step on the wrong place and KAAAABOOOOOOM! God knows where every mine is located. He is more than able to direct our life through those dangers. Life is filled with detours and distractions. We need God to warn us of the distractions and guide us around the detours.
I don’t want to wake up one morning “off route”. I don’t want to lose one second of precious time in service to my LORD. I want HIM to direct my steps because I am not good at directing my own steps.
Father, guide our steps through this day…In Jesus Name…AMEN!
