Truth for Today
Isaiah 64:8 8 But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.
I have always admired those who can take a piece of clay and before you know it they have made a beautiful piece of pottery. I have some pottery in my office. I just admire the skill and technique. It’s incredible. But what is more incredible is a life that has been laid in the hands of the Master Potter to do with as HE pleases. D. L. Moody said, “The world has yet to see what God can do with and for and through and in and by the man who is fully and wholly consecrated to Him. I will try my utmost to be that man."
Isaiah understood life in the Potter’s hand, “But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.”
A good potter always wants to make something beautiful. God is great at making things beautiful. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” I don’t believe there is anything more beautiful than a life God has created that has surrendered to the hands of the Master Potter.
A good potter always wants to make something useful. My life and your life in the hands of the POTTER becomes something He can use to reach people with love…mercy…grace.
A good potter always wants to make something valuable. He is the potter…we are the clay. We are so valuable that HE gave His only Son for our sins. We are so valuable that Jesus left the throne room of glory for the dusty earth. God has put HIS very best into making us a VALUED TREASURE.
LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
