​THE WORD FOR TODAY
 
Exodus 37-39
 
Exodus 39:42           
42 According to all that the LORD had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work.
 
God’s people should follow HIS directions.
 
I am a man.  I have intuition.  I can make anything work…even without directions.
 
I ordered a keyboard for my iPad the other day.  When it arrived I opened it to attempt to use it.  It didn’t work right.  I wouldn’t work right.  Then I saw the instructions that came with the keyboard.  I read them.  Then keyboard worked.  Hmmmmm…imagine that.  You know my wife had the nerve to say to me, “It works when you read the directions.”  Hmmmmm….
 
God had plenty of work for the children of Israel.  He had given Moses specific instructions to follow.  Every item was to be made with to a certain size…shape...color.  There was no room for deviation.  The Bible records, ”According to all that the LORD had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did all the work.”
 
Our life is so much better when we follow God’s direction.  We are better off when we do what HE commands.  It is when we deviate from HIS teaching that our life becomes a mess.  It is when we ignore HIS instruction for living that our life spins out of control.  
 
None of us are smart enough to put our life together without HIS instruction.  That is why the Bible is so important to me.  In the pages of God’s living Word I find instruction, teaching, doctrine, guidance, inspiration, help, comfort and correction for living the life HE desires for me.
 
God’s people should follow HIS directions.
 
Lord, guide and lead my life…I can’t do it by myself…In Jesus Name…Amen!!!
