Truth for Today
Romans 4:7-8 7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; 8 Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.”
Only JESUS can bless us with forgiveness of sins.
When I served with 8th Engineer Support Battalion at Camp Lejeune North Carolina, I participated in a “HUMP”. A “hump” is a really LOOOOOONNNNN GGGG march. Our “HUMP” was with packs and it was 12 miles long. After the 5th mile I couldn’t even begin to describe the pain. All I know is that when the “HUMP” was over so was my day…ahahahahaha. Laying down that pack and getting my feet elevated never felt so good.
Some of us are lugging around more weight than we can bear. No it’s not the bulging tummy…even though that is no fun. No…we are “humping” through life weighted down with the burden and guilt and pain and agony of sin. We need to hear Paul, “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.”
Did you hear Paul say, “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven”? God in His mercy and grace has made a way for our sin to never be counted against us. Through the sacrificial death of Jesus we have the freedom of forgiveness of sin. Let’s confess our sins daily…hourly…by the minute…the very second we know we have offended God. Let’s be quick to lay down the burden of sin at the foot of the cross of Jesus.
Only Jesus can bless us with forgiveness of sins.
Jesus, I am a sinner…forgive my transgression and my lawlessness…In Jesus Name…Amen!!!
