THE WORD FOR TODAY
Luke 16-18 (Click to Read Today’s Word at Biblegateway.com) Truth for Today Luke 16:25 25 “But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. We should strive to live for Christ all the days of our life. I didn’t think about being 50 when I was 30. I am certain that I would have made different decisions had I thought about being a 52 year old man when I was thirty. I can’t play basketball like I could back then. I can’t run as fast as I could back then. I can’t THINK as fast as I could back then. While it is only twenty something years difference I sure feel different today than I did at age 30. Jesus told of a man who was spending an eternity separated from God. In the story Abraham reminded the man, “Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things…” I am certain the man probably remembered the times that he could have been faithful to God and wasn’t. Maybe he remembered the things he should have done and didn’t do. Now it’s too late. I can’t undo the 22 years since I was 30. I must live with the decisions I have made that impact my life today. Some of those were really great decisions. Other decisions…well they ain’t so good. While I can’t change those 22 years I can resolve to live my life to the honor and glory of God today. A lifetime is nothing but a couple of breaths and the years speeeeeeeeeedddddd by. It’s time to consider how we live our life for HIM today. We should strive to live for Christ all the days of our life. Father, I want to live for YOUR honor and YOUR glory everyday of my life from this breath forward…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!! Blessings Bro. William
