EXCUSES!!! Notice top ten excuses…
1. I forgot.
2. No one told me to go ahead.
3. I didn't think it was that important.
4. Wait until the boss comes back and ask him.
5. I didn't know you were in a hurry for it.
6. That's the way we've always done it.
7. That's not in my department.
8. How was I to know this was different?
9. I'm waiting for an O.K.
Moses said, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since you have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow to tongue.” Moses had a great excuse for not submitting to God’s purpose for his life. Moses didn’t see the 3,000,000 plus people suffering in bondage to Egypt. God not only saw them, He heart their cry and His intention was to used Moses to deliver His people. Moses mission wasn’t about his ability to speak…it was about his willing to be used by God.
I haven’t read anywhere that servants of God are to be eloquent and fast talking. Most folks I have talked to often distrust that fast talker. The wisdom writer said, “A fool’s voice is known by his many words.” Moses only had speak a few words, “Let my people go.”
God can take the most shy and least talkative person in the world and change the world around them. We must lay our excuses aside. We must allow HIM to be our power and our voice and our protector in serving the needs of others.
Father, I fear my many words. I fear my outgoing spirit. I fear that “I” will get in the way of “YOU” in my life. Help me lay aside my excuses and serve with a pure, humble and lowly heart…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
