THE WORD FOR TODAY
BibleGateway.com - Passage Lookup: Exodus 7-9
“And Moses said to Aaron, ‘Go to the altar, offer your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. Offer the offerings of the people, and make atonement for them, as the Lord commanded.’”
I went out to eat with some friends some time ago. Nancy and I were the last ones in line. I pulled out my wallet to pay for the meal only to be told, “It’s already paid for.” I haven’t been told that very often in life. As blessed as that was…I am so grateful that our sin is already paid for.
Moses told Aaron to offer a sin offering that would make atonement for himself and the people. This sin offering had to be repeated over and over and over.
Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross sufficient for the sins of the world. The writer of Hebrews made it clear, “By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (Hebrew 10:10)
There is not more need for sacrifice because of HIS sacrifice on the cross. We sing the song, “Jesus Paid It ALL” and we are blessed because He paid the full penalty for our sins.
Remember our sin…”It’s already paid for.”
Father, thank you for paying the full price for our sin…thank YOU for the Cross Lord…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
