THE WORD FOR TODAY
Genesis 7-9 Click to Read the Scripture for Today
1 Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.
What does the Lord see in my life? What does He hear from my lips? What actions in my life yesterday brought Him honor and glory? What did I say and do that distinguished me as His child? Did I witness of His glory and majesty? Did I resist temptation with prayer and dependence on God? Did I serve Him with a surrendered spirit?
These questions convict my heart when I read Genesis 7:1. It was time for Noah to man up the Ark because God was about to bring judgment on a sinful generation. His mercy lay with Noah and his family because as God said, “I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.”
What does God see that distinguishes me from everyone else?
In the simplest way I know how to say it…I hope and pray that He sees Jesus living, moving, and guiding my life. I hope He observes a righteousness that is head and shoulders above the world. I want Him to see ministry done in HIS name and for His honor and glory. I want to Him to hear me singing Majesty with a heart in love with HIM.
Because you see…He is watching!
Lord, before Your watchful eye help me to live for YOUR honor and YOUR glory all the days of my life. Forgive those times when my bent toward sin causes me to fall and draw me to YOUR arms of mercy, love, grace and truth…In Jesus Name...AMEN!!!
