Psalm112-114 (Click to read Today’s Word)
Psalm 113:4 5 Who is like the LORD our God, Who dwells on high…
1984 was the first time I heard the song, “Majesty”. It was at a time of great transition in my life, my first semester in college in a place a long way from home. Some new friends had invited me to attend a concert by the group, “Truth”. The music was some of the best I had ever heard until they began to sing, “Majesty, worship HIS majesty…” My heart was just enthralled with the very presence of God as we lifted our hearts and our hands in praise…it was absolutely awesome.
The Psalmist knew a little something about praising God as well. He asks the question, “Who is like the LORD our God, WHO dwells on high? Obviously there is no one like HIM.
It makes me wonder, “Do I live my life with the truth that there is no one like the LORD our God?”
Life has a way of distracting us from the truths that can change our life. More than once I have allowed distractions to take away my focus on Christ and cause me to gaze upon circumstances around me. It was no wonder that confusion and chaos would follow during those times.
There is no one like the LORD our God. When critics and cynics sneer in derision of God…we know the TRUTH. We know that those prideful and haughty looks will be changed one day when all will have to bow before Jesus. Paul was very clear, “It is written: 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, every knee will bow before me; every tongue will confess to God.' " (Romans 14:11)
There is no one like the LORD our God.
Father, there is no one like YOU…You are majestic and holy and wonderful and in YOUR great mercies You deal with us…thank YOU for Your grace and Your goodness…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
