Psalm 131:3 3 O Israel, hope in the LORD From this time forth and forever.
Two years ago during elections I drove through Clarksdale, MS and saw a campaign sign for the local mayor office. The sign read, “Hope you can believe in.”
People are hoping. The unemployed are hoping a job will come available. The financially strapped are hoping to put food on the table. The sick are hoping for a cure. In the midst of that HOPE we will often grab hold of anything that promises help.
Listen to the Bible, “O, Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forever.”
We can HOPE in God’s care and compassion for HIS people. God has and will always care for HIS own. He cared so much for Israel that HE sent Moses on a mission to free them from oppression.
We can HOPE in God’s providential protection. God has protected me from so many dangers over the years that I cannot even begin to count them.
We can HOPE in God’s bountiful supply. All I have needed God has always provided. I will never forget when one Sunday in 1984. My family got ready for church without eating breakfast. We had no food in the refrigerator or the cupboard. We went to church hungry. My little kids didn’t cry but inside I was a mess. I walked out to my car after church services were over to see more food than I had ever seen outside a grocery store on the ground around the car. The church had given me a food pounding. From that day to this my cupboard has never been empty. In addition they had raised my pay making it retroactive to my call to the church. God’s supply is always enough.
O child of God…HOPE in the LORD from this time forth and forever.
Father, my HOPE is in YOU…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
