THE WORD FOR TODAY
Psalm 82-84 (Click to read Today’s Word)
Psalm 84:10 10 For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold;
I’d rather be His than have riches untold;
I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands,
I’d rather be led by His nail pierced hand.
Than to be a king of a vast domain
Or be held in sin’s dread sway,
I’d rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.
The Psalmist had his priorities in order. He knew that sweet fellowship with God was the most important thing in life. He said, “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand…I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my
God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” He knew what was important. He knew WHO was important.
I love the time I spend in worship of God. I love the moments I am able to spend in HIS Word learning HIS truth for my life. I love the fellowship of praying to God about WHO HE is and how awesome HE is.
I pray that you will carve out time in your day to spend with God. Talk with Him. Learn from Him. Listen to HIM. Enjoy HIS blessed presence in the gift of song. Take counsel from Him in HIS Word for your life. Time with HIM changes our life for the better.
Father, help me live this day in YOUR courts…a place where I find peace and rest from the trials of this life…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
