2 Chronicles 13:10 10 But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the priests who minister to the LORD are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites attend to their duties.
Revisionist Theology: Did God really say…? Satan introduced revisionist theology when he said to Eve, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?’” Revisionist theology ushers in doubts about biblical orthodoxy. Biblical orthodoxy is simply essential biblical doctrines that must be adhered. An essential biblical doctrine is, “You shall have no other God’s before me.” Failure to adhere to this essential commandment spelled disaster for God’s people.
The Kingdom of Israel was divided. Jeroboam reigned over Israel. Abijah reigned over Judah. Abijah accused Jeroboam of casting out the priests of the Lord and ultimately leading the people of God into idolatry. Yet Abijah was just the opposite, “But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; and the priests who minister to the LORD are the sons of Aaron, and the Levites attend to their duties.”
Revisionist theology must be rejected. Any teaching that waters down simple and powerful truths of scripture must be tossed out with the bath water. In these days of disturbing doctrinal trends we cannot revise essential doctrines to fit the culture of our day. I absolutely rejected any teaching that twists the TRUTH of God’s Word to justify our sin and rationalize rejection of Biblical Truth. We can all say with Abijah, “The Lord is our God and we have not forsaken Him.”
Father, may I be found faithful to YOUR Word and YOUR will for my life. Fill us with wisdom to walk in YOUR ways and not the ways of falsehood and untruths in this mixed up world. May we never walk the slippery slope of forsaking YOU but may we always seek YOU and YOUR Word to guide and direct our life…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
