THE WORD FOR TODAY
2 Chronicles 26-28
2 Chronicles 26-28 (Click to read Today’s Word)
2 Chronicles 26:5 5 He sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.
Is it right for us to serve God so that we can “prosper” in what we do?
The testimony of King Uzziah is that as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper. The Bible doesn’t make any judgment on Uzziah’s prosperity it simply says that as long as he sought the LORD, God made him prosper.
In these TOUGH economic times it is easy to yearn for ‘PROSPERITY”. But let’s resolve to seek the LORD so that we prosper in the right way.
Let’s seek the LORD so that we prosper in the depth of our personal relationship with HIM. The Apostle Paul said, “I want to know Christ and the power of the HIS resurrection…” Philippians 3:10
Let’s seek the LORD so that we prosper in the richness of pure personal relationships. There is nothing like having good Godly friends that pray for and with you during tough times. If I wanted a bunch of friends to party hearty that is no problem. But I have but a “few” friends who will pray for and with me in the path of life.
Let’s seek the LORD so that we prosper in the Word and Worship. Colossian 3:16, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” (NKJV)
You know at the end of day when we lay our heads down to rest all we have is HIM. At that moment of rest we are but a heartbeat away from meeting HIM face to face. I want to PROSPER in HIM because HE is all that matters in my life. HE matters to my wife, my children, my church, my friends and every part of my life.
Father, I want to prosper in You…I want to know Your Word better…I want to know YOU better…I want other’s to know YOU in a deeper way…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
