Word of the DayTHE WORD FOR TODAY
Isaiah 13-15 Isaiah 13-15 - Passage Lookup - New King James Version - BibleGateway.com (Click to read Today’s Word) Isaiah 14:12 12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!” I love those movies that always end when the “bad guy” gets what is coming to him. I recently watch a show where a really bad guy was being sued. He was considered powerful and untouchable. But he lost the suit and paid the price for his deeds. Some people today don’t believe in a personal devil. They don’t believe that satan, lucifer, the devil really exist. You will note that I didn’t capitalize satan, lucifer, the devil because I will NEVER put a capital letter on the devil’s name. You see…I believe satan is a real person. I believe he is going to and fro on this earth seeking to destroy. I also believe the devil is a defeated foe. He doesn’t’ deserve a capitol letter even if it is grammatically correct. The bad guy…the devil…is going to get what is coming to him. The Bible teaches that satan is a real person and that he is a defeated foe, ““How you are fallen from heaven, O lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!” The devils days of destruction are numbered. There is only so much that he can do. And by the way…satan is thwarted and limited by the awesome power of a Holy God. Our verse teaches about the fallen status of satan. It teaches us that he had been cut down to the ground. The realm of heaven is not his abode anymore. Since satan is a defeated foe let refuse to give in to him. Let’s resist his temptation with the power of the Holy Spirit of God. Let’s tell him, “NO!”, every time he throws something our way. Let’s send a message that we trust Jesus Christ our only source of victory in this life. Our living LORD has defeated the enemy! Father, I praise YOU for the victory that is ours in the precious name of Jesus. I thank You that satan is defeated and that we don’t have to give in to his temptation. Protect us by YOUR power…In Jesus Name…AMEN! Blessings Brother William Comments are closed.
