Word of the DayTHE WORD FOR TODAY
Isaiah 16-18 Isaiah 16-18 - Passage Lookup - New King James Version - BibleGateway.com (Click to read Today’s Word) Isaiah 17:7 7 In that day a man will look to his Maker, And his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel. RESPECT! Respect for my elder was driven into me when I was growing up. My mother spanked me more than once for…interrupting adults when they were talking…for sassing her when she was talking to me…for being mean and disrespectful to my brothers and sister. Respect has been a part of my life since as far back as I can remember. RESPECT! Isaiah prophesied a day of great respect for God. Damascus had not respected God. But Isaiah declared a day when, “A man will look to his Maker, and his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.” RESPECT! Today we can RESPECT God through REVERENCE for HIM. To revere God is to put HIM at the highest place in our life. There is nothing and no one like. RESPECT! Today we can RESPECT God through RIGHEOUSNESS in our walk for HIM. Nothing shows that we respect God more than a HOLY walk in this crazy world. RESPECT! Today we can RESPECT God through REJECTION of anything that dishonors HIS high and Holy Name. Too often we listen to disrespectful water cooler jokes that dishonor God. Too often we allow people to use God’s name in vain without so much as an excuse me. Too often we use God’s name in vain as if invoking His name adds validity to what we are saying. Out of great respect for God we should REJECT anything that dishonors HIM! RESPECT! Father may my life show the great respect I have for YOU this day. You are God. You are awesome. You are majestic. You are my God. Convict me when I dishonor YOU. Show me when I fail in my walk with YOU…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!! Blessings Brother William Comments are closed.
