Word of the DayTHE WORD FOR TODAY
Ecclesiastes 11-12 Ecclesiastes 10-12 - Passage Lookup - New King James Version - BibleGateway.com (Click to read Today’s Word) Ecclesiastes 10:10 10 If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success. I used an ax for few minutes the other day. I had this big tree root that needed to be removed. After just a couple of swings of the ax I knew I was in for some work. My ax was dull. I immediately remembered those days as a boy when my step father would sharpen his ax before he cut wood. I have seen him sharpen his ax to point that it would shave hair off his arm. How sharp is your ax? I am not referring to a literal ax…but your spiritual ax. How sharp is your life for God? The wisdom writes tell us, “If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success.” Time with God in His Word sharpens our ax for Him. When reading and heeding the WORD of God is a manner of life for us we become so much more effective in our walk and work for HIM. Passion for God through Prayer sharpens our ax for Him. The Bible tells us to, “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Service rendered to bring HONOR and GLORY to God sharpens our ax for Him. Too often we yield to the temptation to serve for recognition, or fame, or power, or prosperity. None of these motives bring honor and glory to God. Godly service that sharpens our ax for HIM thrives in obscurity. Praise to God through every path of our life sharpens our ax for Him. I don’t listen to any secular music. It does nothing for my soul. It doesn’t encourage my walk with God. It doesn’t express my love for God, but sacred music…now that’s music that sharpens the soul. Witnessing of His love that gave HIS only begotten Son sharpens our ax for Him. Some say that less than 10 percent of professing Christians are actively engaged in witnessing. Every believer ought to look for every opportunity to share the LOVE of God those who don’t know HIM. How sharp is your ax? Father, help us sharpen our ax with Your Word, prayer, praise, service and with our witness of YOUR love…help us LORD…In Jesus Name…AMEN! Blessings Brother William Comments are closed.
