Word of the DayTHE WORD FOR TODAY
John 13-15 (Click to Read Today’s Word at Biblegateway.com) Truth for Today John 14:34-35 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Believers ought to love one another. The teacher in an adult-education creative-writing class gave the students an assignment. They were to write "I love you" in 25 words or less, without using the words "I love you." She gave them 15 minutes. A woman in the class spent about ten minutes looking at the ceiling and wriggling in her seat. The last five minutes she wrote frantically and later read the results: "Why, I've seen lots worse hairdos than that honey." "These cookies are hardly burned at all." "Cuddle up-I'll get your feet warm." Jesus commands us, “Love one another.” That should be easy. After all we are redeemed…born again…our name is written in Book of Life. Loving one another ought to be easy…hmmmmm. I love the challenge the teacher gave her students. Could you love someone without using the word, “LOVE”? We use it so much it is borderline cliché. There is nothing cliché about Christ’s love for us. Agape love is love written in sacrifice…service…selflessness. It is a kind of love that is evident without ever saying a word. Try this today…love someone without using the word, “LOVE”. Believers ought to love one another! O Jesus, help me love others as YOU have loved me with Your grace, mercy and forgiveness…In Jesus Name…Amen!!! Blessings Bro. William Comments are closed.
