Truth for Today 
 
1 Timoty 3:1 1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,
 
I know so many folks are struggling with “signs of the times”.  From internet to television to radio to even cd music we have seen or heard all kinds of perversion streaming into our ears.  Even cell phones are being used to spread ungodly kinds of things.  Families are struggling against fracture and failure.  Children are virtually growing up “parentless” with both parents working hard just to make ends meet.  Sound doctrine in many churches is being replaced by every new “emerging” fad that the Pastor can download from the internet.
 
We shouldn’t be surprised…
 
Paul writing to Timothy again says, “…in latter times some will depart from the faith..”
 
Those words have become a reality.  More “Christians” are reading their horoscopes and heeding astrology than walking in fellowship with Christ and His Word.  We are willing to hear doctrines that 20 years ago would have been soundly condemned.  Orthodoxy has been replaced by a “feel good religion” that doesn’t confront the sin in our life.
 
We are in those “latter times”.  So what is our response?  I am glad you asked.
 
BELIEVE in Jesus…walk with Jesus…trust JESUS…stand strong on HIS Word.  Allow nothing and no one to convince us there is a “new doctrine”.   Jesus is same yesterday…tomorrow…and forever.  HIS desire for the nations HAS NOT changed.  His compassion for sinners is as real today as it was when HE cried, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”  This is the time to HOLD on to Jesus!
 
LORD, I am sinner…in need of grace…without You I am nothing…help me not waiver in my devotion to YOU and my commitment to YOUR mission for my life…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
