Word of the DayTHE WORD FOR TODAY
Romans 10-12 (Click to Read Today’s Word at Biblegateway.com) Truth for Today Romans 10:1 1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. Believers should desire the salvation of lost souls. I have heard many people pray for lost souls through the years. I have heard parents cry for the souls of their children. Many Churches maintain a prayer list specifically praying for lost souls. We should be concerned that those who don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior come to know HIM as LORD and SAVIOR. Paul begins Romans 10 with a passionate desire for the salvation of Israel. They were his people. He knew of their zeal for God but it was a misplaced zeal. They needed to be saved from their sin. Do you know someone who isn’t saved? I know it’s a word that is carelessly thrown around. Some even advise preachers to stop using the word “saved”. But “to be saved” is Biblical. We need to use that word because a person without JESUS is not saved. Some argue that people don’t understand the word. That is why we must explain what it means to be saved. To be “saved” is to be rescued from eternal separation from God through the sacrificial death of Jesus. To be “saved” is to be rescued from a life of sinful rebellion and given a new life of hope. To be “saved” is go from having no future whatsoever to having a future in eternity. To be “saved” is to experience the freedom of the forgiveness of our sin. Let me be so bold as to ask, “Are you saved”? God sent His one and only Son so that you can be saved. You can recognize that you are a sinner. You can repent of your sin. You can cry out to Jesus, “Jesus come into my heart and save me.” My desire is that every person reading this devotion be saved. Believers should desire the salvation of lost souls. Jesus, burn into our hearts a desire that all come to know YOU as Lord and Savior…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!! Blessings Bro. William Comments are closed.
