Time Flies

Picture
by J. Smith

How time flies, as the old adage says. Here we are at the end of another month and weeks away from school starting again.
July began with a Patriotic Musical performed by our Olivet choir honoring our nation's 249th birthday. The music and narration were compiled by our very own Mrs. Judy G. Also, this month, the ladies had another bracelet workshop hosted and directed by Mrs. Sue W. It was a good turn out and fall themed bracelet and a Christmas themed bracelet were made.
Bro. Chip started a new Sunday morning series - "There is Hope" taking the church through the book of    1 Peter. Meanwhile, he is still teaching through Hebrews Sunday evenings and the Minor Prophets on Wednesday nights.
As I mentioned earlier, school is only weeks away much to the chagrin of the children of Santa Rosa County. Olivet has partnered with Hobbs Middle School on Glover and we will be having our annual prayer walk in August. Bro. Chip is hoping to coordinate it for Monday, August 4 so that teachers and staff who would want to can participate, and the church also desires to minister to the teachers and staff with a breakfast or lunch.
These are busy days and time marches on quickly. Yet, just looking back there are all sorts of ways one cane be about the Lord's service - creating musicals, making bracelets to share, sharing the word of God, and praying for all men everywhere. We as believers are charged to make good use of the time because the days are short. So let us keep doing all for the Lord our Savior and His glory, and bring Him a smile this day.
