BibleGateway.com - Passage Lookup: Genesis 31-33
4 But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.
Esau had wanted to kill Jacob. Now…it was different.
Jacob had prayed about his impending family reunion with Esau. Now…it was reality.
I can imagine his heart when Esau embraced him and kissed him.
There is a powerful life application in this passage…FORGIVENESS.
Rather than fight…Esau and Jacob embraced. Forgiveness is God’s powerful antidote to hate and anger. In the face of all the heat of anger…there needs to be outpouring of God’s grace for forgiving.
The forgiven…must be forgiving. We can be just like Jacob and Esau. We can…through he power of Christ…lay aside our hurt…our anger…and forgive.
Father…give me grace and wisdom as I deal with the hurt from years past and forgive…I can’t do it alone…help me…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
