THE WORD FOR TODAY
Genesis 16-18 Click to Read the Scripture for Today
1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. 2 And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
God told Abram, “…walk before Me and be blameless.” He tells him this based on this truth, “I am Almighty God."
Because of WHO He is…Abram was to walk blameless before God. Because WHO He is…WE are to walk blameless before God.
We can’t do it!!!
We can’t do it in our own strength…in our own morality…because our own strength…our own morality…falls short of HIS Holy standard.
What is our HOPE?
God knew that we could never walk blameless…so…"…4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:4-5
A walk rooted in a living relationship with Christ will always be blameless before God Who sent HIM to die for our sin.
HE walked blameless because we could not walk blameless.
Father…I praise YOU for the blameless ONE Who took my sin and cleansed me…forgive me Lord…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!!
