Truth for Today
Luke 3:10-14 10 “What should we do then?” the crowd asked. 11 John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.” 12 Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?” 13 “Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them. 14 Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely—be content with your pay.”
God’s Word challenges us to change our life.
What do you do when you know you are headed the wrong direction? Some of us keep on driving knowing that we are going to find the right road. Somebody said, “The reason Moses and the children of Israel stayed lost for 40 years is that Moses refused to stop and ask for directions.” Other’s stop to ask someone for directions which they don’t follow and get even more lost. Still others listen to and follow the right directions and find themselves on the right road to their destination.
The crowd, tax collector and soldier each found themselves going in the wrong direction. They asked John, “What should we do them?” John promptly gave them instruction that changed their life and their direction.
What should we do? We should read God’s Word for all the truth we can find. We should live God’s Word so that truth can shine in lives in a powerful witness. We should take God’s Word into our inmost being so we can experience the transforming power that can only come from God.
What should we do? We should listen to JESUS our Lord. He will never lead us the wrong way.
God’s Word challenges us to changes our life.
Lord, Your Word is true…YOU are Truth O Lord and through Your Word our life is changed and transformed…In Jesus Name…Amen!!!
