THE WORD FOR TODAY
2 Kings 1-3 2 Kings 1-3 2 Kings 2:23 23 Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him, and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” I was called lots of names when I was growing up. It seemed I was the bully’s favorite target. The kids cruelty, at times knew no end. Elisha knew something about the sharp barbs of kids. As he was traveling a very large group of youth came from the city mocking him and calling him names, “Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!” It’s just part of our fallen world that people would say and do mean and spiteful things to people. It’s the reprobate sinfulness that causes some who call themselves Christians to practice gossip and slander against innocent people. It’s the absolute brokenness of a prideful world causes us to make fun of and ridicule people. And it shouldn’t be!!! So the lesson from this short verse today is really simple: Let’s be nice to each other. Let’s treat each other with respect, honor and dignity. We should never bruise someone’s spirit with mean and hateful language and actions. Lord help me to treat everyone I meet with respect, dignity and honor…in Jesus Name…AMEN!!! Blessings Brother William
