THE WORD FOR TODAY
Psalm 97-99 Psalm 97-99 (Click to read Today’s Word) Psalm 97:10 7 Let all be put to shame who serve carved images, Who boast of idols. Worship Him, all you gods. It used to be really easy to buy presents for me. My family could always buy something related to golf or the Miami Dolphins. My collection of golf and Miami paraphernalia has grown. But it has stopped. I don’t want or need anything related to sports because one day it dawned on me that golf and the Miami Dolphins were my carved image. I realized that when people thought of me the first thing that came to mind when they said my name wasn’t anything to do with my faith in Christ…it was golf or that I was an avid Miami Dolphins fan. Psalm 97:10 Let all be put to shame who serve carved images, Who boast of idols. Worship Him, all you gods. I don’t any more carved images in my office…home…or anywhere. I want the Cross of Christ carved in my life…in my walk. I want the mind of Christ to be my guide and inspiration. I pray that when people think about me they will know that Christ is the focus of my life and that HE helps me be a Godly Man…A Godly Husband…A Godly Dad…A Godly Grandfather…A Godly Pastor…A Godly Friend. What carved images must be destroyed for you? We must all be ashamed of our carved images…our idols…and WORSHIP HIM Who is above all in all…Jesus Christ our Lord. Father, may there be no carved images in my life Lord…show when something or someone gets in the way of bearing the Cross of Calvary in my life…help me have the mind of Christ…In Jesus Name…AMEN!!! Blessings Brother William
